Kidzz4Kidzz International Pen-Pal Program (KIPP)

KIPP matches our volunteers with children living in an orphanage in Mwanza, Tanzania, who are able to correspond through letters.  This orphanage holds approximately forty children and only two adults, who all live on only a couple hundred dollars a month, so individual attention for these children is very limited.  We hope that through our program, they can each have a friend who is there only for them.  One child, in a letter to his pen pal, said that he is very grateful because he gets to live in an orphanage (this is a luxury in Mwanza, where the AIDS epidemic is so widespread that most orphans are left homeless), and now he has a friend.
